Halton Trojans Take The Crown

Halton Trojans are Battle For Britain Champions!

Following in the footsteps of the TrOAPs who took this crown last year, the much younger Halton Trojans have emerged victorious at the annual tournament held in Hadlow, Kent.

The Halton Trojans celebrate becoming Battle For Britain Champions

The team, which is predominantly made up from this year's AA Bootle Trojans team, went 5-1 over the course of the weekend - eventually beating the hosts, Kent All-Stars in a final that started slowly and was then met by an explosion of runs.

Eventually, it was a bases loaded walk issued to Brad Owen that awarded the Trojans their more literal than usual "walk-off" moment.

Earlier in the weekend, Ben McGinnes had won the Home Run Derby and having hit over .700 for the weekend and with an OPS close to 2.00, he laid down the strongest claim for the Trojans' tournament MVP. It should be noted that several other players had huge moments that strongly contributed to the performances over the weekend.
