The Trojans were formed way back in 1946, and are the oldest, existing baseball club in the UK. But enough about that, there’s plenty of information on our history elsewhere on the site. Here, you can find out about the here and now!
As recently as 2013, the Trojans were a one team club but we realised that there was a greater appetite for the sport in this area than we could possibly cater for in that format. For this reason, in 2014, we started our second team nicknamed the “Twojans”, and in 2020 we merged with Halton Baseball Club and founded the Halton Trojans. Each team plays a specific role within the club to ensure we cater for all levels of ability.
The first team is put together to compete for honours at the highest available level. They have been the Northern champions for the past four consecutive seasons, and are looking forward to getting another title defence underway in 2021.
The Twojans were originally a development team but after five seasons of hard work to get to this stage, they now feels ready to compete in their own right, and will be looking to add the first trophy to their cabinet in the next few years.
For now, the Halton Trojans are here to provide playing opportunities to those that want to get into baseball. They are made up of some more experienced players looking to share their knowledge, rookies keen to learn the sport for the first time, and everything inbetween!
New for 2021 - We are looking to provide some youth baseball taster sessions throughout the summer. The sessions will be led by our BSUK Level 3 qualified coach, Dave Martin Baez, our lead on Youth Baseball development.
Also new for 2021, is our Liverpool Trojans softball team. They will compete in Liverpool’s own developmental softball league which also merged with the Trojans organisation in the early part of 2020 - but remains a separate entity in terms of committee and league governance.
We are always on the lookout for new players, coaches, umpires and scorers of all abilities and level of experience, so if anything that we do sounds like it is something that you would like to get involved with then click here to let us know a little more.
