Liverpool Trojans vs Manchester A’s—06/06/21
Game 1
So the first game of the season saw new pitcher Jose Pimentel take the mound. The Trojans put together a strong side to start the season and it showed from the off taking a 4-1 lead after the first inning. The Trojan bats were on fire with both Birchall brothers (John and Sam) one hit away from the cycle, but both going deep with Sam’s being in his first at bat for nearly 2 years, Darren Meintjes doing his bit with a Grand Salami too! With Jose keeping Manchester scoreless until the final inning the Trojans were fired up giving plenty of run support to their new starting pitcher, scoring 20 runs over a 3 inning span. In the final inning, Jose clearly didn’t think he did enough as he made all 3 outs himself, as if the lads didn’t have much to do all day as it was!

Game Two
Manager Conor Baker-Latham took the ball for game two, putting up a valiant effort keeping the As to 4 runs as the Trojan bats stayed hot scoring 16 runs. The As started the second game stronger coming out and scoring 2 runs to put the pressure on the Trojans. Came back and scored 3 and ensured we didn’t lose an inning all weekend. The As were kept scoreless in the second inning which helped the Trojans score another 3 runs to stretch the lead to 4. Bats came alive again for the As coming in scoring 2 runs in the top of the third but yet again keeping with the theme of hot bats the Trojans didn’t take this lightly scoring 6 in the bottom half. The game ended with the Trojans winning 16-4, big shoutout to John Birchall making what can only be described as an unreal play at shortstop. On par with AGUEROOO, you’ll never see anything like it ever again.
Trojans looking fierce scoring 40 runs across two games.
Move on to the Bruins in our next fixture will be a tough one but as always the Trojans look to come away with the Sweep.
